Goverment Guidlines regarding food
the Goverment suggests it is important to follow their guidlines for a healthy lifestyle and a nutritious diet and body. the goverment introduce the eat-well guide to encourage people of all life stages to eat as much healthy and nutritious foods such as fruit and vegetables. The eat-well guide is a plate showing all the different food catagories you should aim to include in every meal. It shows things like carbohydrates, fruit and veg, dairy, protein and fats- and sugars, the plate shows what each food group contains such as bread and pasta in carbohydrates. The plate also shows how much of each food group you should aim to put on your plate each meal, the biggest groups are carbohydrates and fruit and veg, together those 2 groups should take up around half of your plate.
the goverment have also introduced the 5-a-day challenge. it is a challenge for all life stages, it consists of trying to consume at -least 5 servings of fruit and/or vegetables a day. These serving could be an apple, and orange any other fruit or veg. An adults serving portion is suggested to be around 80g.
